What is the minimum order quantity for wholesale charcoal?
Our standard minimum order is one 40-foot container — approximately 20 metric tons depending on the product type and packaging format. We can accommodate smaller trial orders for new customers. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
Do you offer trial or sample orders?
Yes. We understand that new buyers need to test quality before committing to a full container. Contact us to discuss a sample or trial order arrangement. Sample costs and logistics are agreed on a case-by-case basis.
What payment terms do you accept?
We accept standard international trade payment terms including Letter of Credit (LC) and Telegraphic Transfer (TT). Contact our export team to discuss terms for your specific order.
How long does it take to process and ship an order?

Shipping Terms, IMDG, and Documentation
What shipping terms are available for charcoal orders?
We offer FOB (Free On Board), CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight), and CFR (Cost and Freight). Charcoal is classified as a Dangerous Good under IMDG regulations. We handle all documentation including Certificate of Analysis, MSDS, and IMDG compliance. Lead times vary by destination and order size.
What countries do you export charcoal to?
We export to over 30 countries including Japan, USA, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Australia, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Israel, Greece, and the United Kingdom. Our Thai-Japanese heritage gives us deep connections in the Japanese market.
What documentation do you provide with each shipment?
We provide a Certificate of Analysis (CoA), MSDS, IMDG dangerous goods compliance documentation, packing list, commercial invoice, and all required export documentation for the destination country.
Is charcoal classified as a dangerous good?
Yes. Charcoal is classified as a Dangerous Good under IMDG regulations. Matsuri International handles all DG compliance documentation as standard — we have been shipping charcoal internationally since 2003.

Charcoal Grades, Packaging, and Products
What charcoal grades does Matsuri International supply?
We supply A-grade charcoal in four classifications: A1 (premium export), A2, A3, and A4. We also supply B-grade for BBQ markets. All grades available in round and stick shapes. A-grade is exported primarily to Japan, Korea, UAE, and GCC. B-grade to Japan, USA, UAE, Israel, and Greece.
Do you offer custom packaging and private label charcoal?
Yes. We offer custom-branded PP bags and carton boxes in sizes from 3kg to 20kg. Private label packaging is available for distributors who want to sell under their own brand. Minimum order quantities apply for custom packaging runs.
Is your charcoal suitable for BBQ restaurants without producing sparks or smoke?
Yes. Our A-grade charcoal products are manufactured to burn without sparks, smoke, or odours — the preferred standard for restaurants, hotels, and professional catering operations worldwide. This is a result of our controlled manufacturing process and strict grading standards.
What types of charcoal do you supply?
A-grade mangrove charcoal, hardwood BBQ charcoal, charcoal briquettes (pillow, hex, cube), shisha and hookah charcoal (coconut shell and hardwood), and industrial charcoal powder and fines. All available for wholesale and export.
